A Sweet Goodbye and a Heartfelt Thank You!

Dear Customers, Friends, and Cookie Lovers,

After much thought and with a very full heart, we have made the difficult decision to close Little Laurel’s Cookie Company on October 31, 2026.

When we started this crazy little adventure in May 2024, I never could have imagined how much joy it would bring me. After having my employment situation unexpectedly change, I saw it as an opportunity to try something completely different. I decided to turn something I have always loved—baking cookies using the same recipes that I made with my grandmother when I was a little girl (from my “Little Laurel” days)—into a small business so that I could share love through baking in the same way that I felt in my grandmother’s kitchen. Just like our slogan says, these really are cookies like Grandma made.

What started in my home kitchen became so much more than I ever expected. I had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people, hearing your stories, baking for your families and celebrations, and watching customers come back because they loved our cookies as much as I loved making them. Every order, kind word, recommendation, and repeat customer meant more to me than you probably realize.

There are several reasons behind my decision to close this chapter. I am fortunate to be given an amazing new job opportunity at an equally amazing company and to be a part of an amazing team. I want to be able to give that opportunity the time and energy it deserves. Additionally, there is the reality that the rising cost of ingredients and business costs has made us need to think about rising prices in increasingly challenging times. Asking people to pay more for cookies when everyone has less these days doesn’t sit right with us.

Closing Little Laurel’s Cookie Company is bittersweet. I will miss the mixing, the baking, the smell of fresh cookies filling my kitchen, and most of all, you—the people who made this journey so special.

But I also know that sometimes we have to close one door so we can fully step through another.

I am incredibly grateful that you allowed me to be part of your lives, even if it was through something as simple and wonderful as a tray of homemade cookies. Thank you for trusting me with your celebrations, your gifts, your cravings, and your sweet tooth. Thank you for supporting our small local business.

Our last popup store will be at the Coventry Farmer’s Market in Coventry on October 18th.

This may be the end of my cottage baking business, but I will always look back on these two years with tremendous gratitude and a smile.

Thank you for every order, every kind word, every life update, and every cookie shared.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Laurel
